The day after this sermon I ran across a quote the expresses the intent of the message. It comes from the founder of my denomination.
“He can only come and give us the richest blessings of transformation and strength and power by allowing us to come into difficult places, even so difficult that we stretch our hands to Him and He can thus come in. Thus we meet the things He permits, welcome them, use them, climb up by them, make them so many ladders to the heights of God.”
